Styles of Clothing

Style of clothes is a set of fashionable techniques that form an individual image. It is designed to reflect the character, profession, social status, hobbies, belonging to the subculture and other factors by which others have a common opinion about the person.

In addition, elements of the wardrobe should emphasize expressive features, mask the shortcomings of appearance and provide comfort throughout the day.

Because of the great variety of characters and views, blindly copying fashion trends seems inappropriate and even ridiculous. To create an original image, you need to choose the right non-trivial combinations, in harmony with your image and philosophy of life. The cost of clothing does not matter, it is important how a person will present themselves.

Basic Styles of Clothing

To let you know what to build on when choosing image elements, we will tell you about popular style trends and their characteristics.

Classic (official)

Unchangeable attributes of this style are:

  • Strict monochrome suit;
  • A shirt with a tie;
  • Shiny polished leather shoes.

At solemn events, a dark suit is more often worn, for business meetings gray and dark blue is appropriate. The elegant image of the owner of the outfit is accentuated by a belt, watch and handkerchief. Jacket and trousers should be smoothed and meet the parameters of the body, i.e. no need to take on a larger or smaller size.

Casual

This is the name of the free style in clothes, which is relevant for different occasions: picnic trips, walks, parties, studies, work and romantic dinner. It is equally successful for men and women.

It is possible to give full will to the imagination, creating unique combinations with blazers, jackets, shirts, trousers, pullovers and other clothes. Accessories will help you to give your image a complete look.

Sport-Casual

The main accents of this style are comfort and complete freedom of movement. Do not be confused with training pants, shirts and running shoes. Here are used only some elements of sports, they just add the image of free notes and remove excess stiffness.

The basic elements of sport-casual are:

  • Jeans, pants with free silhouette;
  • Moccasins, sneakers, trekking boots;
  • T-shirts;
  • Not a strict jacket;
  • Polo shirts, turtlenecks;
  • Outerwear – sports bombers, windbreakers.

To complete the image, carry the things in your gym bag.

Business Casual

The fundamental difference from the original business style is the lack of strict requirements for clothing. In addition to strict jackets here are appropriate elements of everyday wardrobe – shirts, sweaters, vests, jumper, and the quality of shoes will fit shoes and boots. It is also allowed to refuse classic accessories (shawls, cufflinks, ties, etc.) and use bright shades with discreet accents.

Smart Casual

Combining notes of street and official style, in fashion circles the direction is called “elegant daily life”. In many aspects, smart-casual overlaps with the office version. The main difference is that in the official version, the components of the suits must be made in the same tone and of the same fabric.

Compromises of formal jackets with jeans (including torn jeans) and white shirts or simple T-shirts are also allowed. Scarves or handkerchiefs will be a worthy replacement for a tie in your image. Shoes will fit anything from sneakers to classic shoes.

Romantic

Style features include sophistication, sublimity and lightness. The romantic image does not allow strict lines and conservatism, accessories should only subtly complement the composition, not attract close attention.

The basis of style are:

  • Jackets, vests, jumper with V-neck;
  • Pants – skinny, gaulifer;
  • A scarf and a hat;
  • Shoes – shoes, sneakers.

This is a multi-layered image where short clothes are worn over longer ones. This gives a slightly unhelpful, yet original look.

To form a style, use contrasting elements to avoid uniformity. For example, a black bottom should be combined with a white or bright top. In the question of shoes you are given complete freedom of choice, the main thing is that it harmoniously complement the other attributes of the image.

It is clear from the name that this style is appropriate for a date. It is also appropriate for creative events and meetings, and not only with women.

Safari

The style concept is built on the spirit of Africa and hunting. It is precisely conveyed by light clothing – shorts with patch pockets and rivets, T-shirts, pants, capes and jackets. For more realism, use accessories – wide-brimmed hats, leather straps, harnesses.

The palette is represented by muted colors: sandy, green, brown, beige, mustard and olive shades.

Safari is a fashionable style in clothes, which is chosen by fans of travel, adventure, outdoor activities, comfortable clothing.

Vanguard

This style was born from the legendary Pierre Cardin. The first associations that arise in the people around us are extraordinary, courageous, a rejection of tradition and even the generally accepted moral framework.

The quintessence of avant-gardism are: fanciful elements, contrasting details, asymmetry and provocative styles. Here one cannot find monotonous combinations and trivial solutions.

This image is preferred by creative individuals or ordinary people who want to stand out from the crowd and demonstrate freedom.

A variety of combinations are suitable for forming a catchy style:

  • A velvet suit with a defiant style of shirt;
  • Thin trousers and a velvet top;
  • A combination of suede and silk clothes;
  • Atlas tandem with plastic inserts;
  • Combination with other styles such as Cajoel.

Extravagant combinations in everyday wear are allowed only to celebrities, little-known people in such outfits visually drown and look even ironic.

Therefore, the avant-garde is suitable for theme parties, corporate events, concerts and holidays. In the office genre pretentious image is inappropriate. You can only borrow some elements for experimentation.

Grange

The emergence of style was promoted by a mass boycott of glamorous things in the 90s. As a protest, young guys wore inexpressive and monotonous costumes. By doing so they attracted public attention and laid the foundation for an original style direction.

The basis of the first complete collection, authored by Mark Jacobs, was rough shoes and torn things. This combination continues to take its rightful place in modern fashion.

For the grunge style will fit all elements of the wardrobe, which in the understanding of the average person has already outdated its own:

  • Rubbed jeans;
  • Ripped shirts or shirts with worn elbows;
  • Stretchy t-shirts and pants;
  • Sweaters with stretched hinges;
  • Polished and faded t-shirts with a worn-out look;
  • Calfs with careless, torn contours;
  • Sneakers with torn laces and dropped rings.

All these style elements will be the embodiment of freedom, independence and dissent.

The rebellious image is characterized by restrained and noble shades: gray, brown, black, blue, dark green. White is allowed, but do not overdo it. Forget about the bright drawings, patterns and numerous accessories.

Leading stylists in the world predict the image of “grunge” eternal popularity, as a counterbalance to conventional trends will be relevant in any era.

Hippie

The style professes the rebellious values of the grunge style, but the content is completely opposite to it. Supporters of the hippie subculture prefer catchy things with bright prints and voluminous details in psychedelic colors.

Their wardrobe is dominated by checked shirts, classic jeans, army jackets and jackets, shapeless sweaters, leather vests and loose cut shirts.

To complete the image hipsters use bandanas, round-rimmed glasses, dimensional backpacks and other expressive accessories.
